Apart from being the chairman of The Akadimi Foundation and the co-founder at Health Governance International, James Rice is also Senior Adviser with the Governance & Leadership service line of Gallagher’s Human Resources & Compensation Consulting practice. He focuses his consulting work on strategic governance structures and systems for high performing, tax-exempt health sector organizations and integrated health systems; visioning for health sector and not-for-profit organizations; and leadership development for physicians and medical groups. He holds masters and doctoral degrees in management and health policy from the University of Minnesota and has received several prestigious awards. James has worked in over 34 countries and was recently Project Director and Global Technical Lead for Governance in a large $200 million USAID funded project serving countries in Asia, Africa, and Latin America. He holds faculty positions at The Strathmore School of Business, Nairobi, Kenya; the Advance Healthcare Management Institute in Prague, the Czech Republic; The Judge School of Business, Cambridge University, Cambridge, England; and the Programme in Health Administration at the University of Minnesota’s School of Public Health. At Prague International Health Summit 2023, James will give the opening speech and will be a guide throughout the conference.
