Changes in provider network for effective contracting

Martin Smatana is a Director of Institute of Health Policies and Chief Analyst at Slovak Ministry of Health. Martin graduated at Imperial College London where he studied economics with a focus on health sector. Since 2016 he is responsible for health policy, definition of provider networks, as well as for purchasing and pricing of health technologies, medical devices, and drugs at Ministry of Health of Slovakia. He is a Member of Supervisory Board at General Health Insurance Company (VšZP) and a Chairman of the Supervisory Board at University Hospital in Trenčín. Martin co-authored several international publications, for example Health Systems in Transition and he is also member of many committees of the European Commission. His presentation at the Prague International Health Summit 2018 will focus on changes in creation and segmentation of hospitals in Slovakia and related changes in the area.
