Doctor and founder of Loono

Kateřina Šédová graduated from the First Faculty of Medicine of Charles University in Prague and currently works as a doctor of Internal Medicine at the Bulovka Hospital. During her studies, she interned in Vienna, Porto, and Harvard. After her own experience with cancer, she founded the non-profit organization Loono at the age of 22. Since then, he has been teaching how to prevent cancer and heart attacks, as well as how to take care of reproductive and mental health. She started alone, today the Loono team has more than 100 people in five cities in the Czech Republic, who have trained more than 130,000 people in the field of prevention and thus helped dozens of them detect cancer at an early stage. They also recently launched the Preventivka mobile application, which reminds the public of preventive medical check-ups. In connection with the #prsakoule campaign, she was a guest of DVTV and the Jan Krause Show, won the European Commission's EU Health Award, and Forbes magazine selected her as one of the personalities of the annual 30 under 30 and Mladá Fronta among the Czechs of 2016 list. For Loono, she also received the EY Socially Beneficial Entrepreneur award of 2021. She is a member of the board of directors of the organization Nový prostor and 3pe, and at the same time an active member of the Aspen Institute CE community.
