Esther Lacko-van der Slikke is a healthcare innovator in Maastricht University Medical Centre+ (MaastrichtUMC+). Esther obtained a bachelor’s education in nursing and a master’s in personal leadership, innovation and change. She has worked as an intensive care nurse for twenty years. During the last decade she used her knowledge and health care experience to enhance innovations within Maastricht UMC+. Her effort results in many implemented innovations and contributions to various EU grand projects. As one of the co-founders of Maastricht UMC+ Innovation lab, she has learned first-hand about opportunities and pitfalls in change management processes within a large health care institution.
