Martin Kuba is a graduate of the First Faculty of Medicine of the Charles University. Since 2002, he has worked as a doctor in the Emergency Medical Services and an anesthesiologist in the Department of Cardiac Surgery and Anesthesiology and Resuscitation department of the Nemocnice České Budějovice. Martin is also politically active, between 2011-2013 he served as Minister of Industry and Trade. Since 2018, he has been a representative of the city of České Budějovice and since 2020 the chairman of the Association of Regions of the Czech Republic. Since 2022, he has been working as a member of the City Council of České Budějovice. Martin is also a co-owner of OIG Power, a successful energy start-up to produce BatteryBox - a device for the accumulation and smart use of energy from renewable sources in buildings. The company received the Quality Innovation Award 2018 for innovative solutions, as well as the Grand Prix For Arch 2017 for the best exhibit at the international fair. Finally, Martin is the founder of the Jihočeské naděje endowment fund, where he supports young talented people from South Bohemia, as well as children from socially weaker families in science and education, sports and art.
