Roman Havlík is the Director of the Olomouc University Hospital, the sixth largest medical facility in the Czech Republic. He graduated in General Medicine at the Faculty of Medicine of Palacký University in Olomouc. After graduation, he started working as a secondary physician at the surgical department of the hospital in Bruntál. Since 2000 he has been working as a physician at the First Surgical Clinic of the Olomouc University Hospital, in 2009 he was appointed Deputy Director for Medical Care of this hospital and since 2012 he has been its director. In 2017, he was appointed Professor of Surgery.
